Sitting Here Downloading

I’m sitting here downloading training materials from a website I am a member of and it is slow going, so I figured I may as well blog inbetween pushing buttons to download.

Let’s see… This morning I got all THREE kids dressed and out the door to school. We had our moms Bible Study start back up this morning. Last year I didn’t usually take Christian and Dane with me… But this year almost all the kids there are Dane’s age and they just play around us while we do our study and chat, so it was fun for him. Matt had to attend court for one of the youth in church this morning. Then he was off to one of the Nursing Home’s fall festival. Then off to the hospital to do visits. He arrived home just in time for me to go to school to teach the Kindergartners computers as I do every Friday. When I got home I crashed on the couch for a bit. Then we were off back to the nursing home fall festival as a family. We had free dinner tickets. The boys were not in great moods. I don’t know if they were just tired from the week at school, of if it’s the weather or what…

I think my cold is finally starting to clear up. I was much less miserable today. Of course now Matt has it good. At this rate this one cold will be passed around our family all winter! I’m hoping the boys escape catching it. Matt is off to some race tomorrow, so it will just be me and the boys. We’ll probably be cleaning house all day. Fun Fun! I’m sure they’ll just love that!

Next week doesn’t look any less busy. I need to map out a better schedule to get everything done around here I think. If you find anywhere that sells more hours for the day let me know. :)

The corn is starting to be harvested in certain fields. They haven’t started ours yet, but I’m sure within the next couple weeks it will be down. We had a couple big rain bursts today that left as soon as they came. Both times it rained extremely hard but it only lasted about 5 minutes. Hopefully that was enough to make what is left in the garden happy as we haven’t been out there much to water lately. Matt says the gas guy filled up the churches gas tank this afternoon which is back by the garden and he was quite impressed with the pumpkins. I’ll have to get out there and get some pictures I guess.

Well, I think I will work on cleaning off my desk through the rest of these downloads. Have a great weekend!

One of Those Weeks

Filed under: Daily Life — Christine at 10:46 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2007

I tell ya, it’s been one of those crazy weeks and it’s only Wednesday. Nothing major on the home front, just a bunch of business garbage that is a pain – stuff we shouldn’t have to take time dealing with. But such is life… as business grows so do the issues I guess. We’ve had three issues all come up at once – all dealing with people my business partner and I have relationships with, so that makes it hard since there are emotional ties there. I had my good cry this morning and am ready to move on. We’ll of course get through this.

Anyway… we had a good weekend. It was mission fest at church and we had the nicest missionaries from Mexico visiting. We had Sunday School at 9:00, church at 10:00, and services at 4:00 and 6:30. Oh and potluck at 5:00. So a lot of hours at church, but it was good. I also snuck the kids off to the circus at 2:00. I had forgot someone had given us tickets for the kids and it was both on Sat. and Sunday and we forgot to go on Sat. So… when I realized it on Sunday I had mommy guilt and had to take them. Ryan had been asking for months when the circus was coming back to town. It was basically the exact same show as last year, but the kids of course don’t care.

I think Dane is getting adjusted to the boys being gone all day. He loves going with to pick them up in the afternoon though. He also has been taking naps less often…. If he is happy in the afternoon, I don’t force the issue. He did just fine today.

Oh hey, I finally confronted my fears and went to the dentist last week. I bought dental insurance last year – thinking if I buy insurance I would be more likely to go since I was already paying for it… Well, after I had been paying for a year I finally went. LOL I just don’t like going… The last time I went was like 2 years ago when we were in Marysville. (I know terrible) I had an appointment to get a filling and then cancelled it as it was right when Matt left Elim, and things were just crazy. They were also torturous in my cleaning, so I didn’t have a desire to go back. So I supposedly had this cavity, but it didn’t bother me at all. So I went to this dentist and they were like our dentist in MN – very gentle and nice. (I had already taken Ryan and Christian there twice… – I figured I’d let them be the guinea pigs, aren’t I a great mom?) Anyway low and behold – no cavities. So either our dentist in Marysville was a quack… (which is a possibility) or God miraculously healed my cavity. Either way I’m grateful I don’t need a filling.

I STILL Have this cold… 3 1/2 weeks later. It is gradually getting better, but I am pretty sure it is a sinus infection now. I should probably drag myself to the doctor I guess – although they say you can overcome sinus infections on your own eventually. The main problem is we need to find a new Dr. as the one we were going to we’re just not very happy with… but that means we have to go to a town further away. Guess we’ll have to ask around and see what people recommend.

All right, I keep re-reading and half the things are spelled wrong or gramatically wrong (I fixed a lot) – guess I’m tired. LOL So if there are mistakes sorry!
Talk to you soon!
