BRRRR

Sorry it has been awhile! We haven’t been doing anything too amazing and out of the ordinary – just staying busy with everday life I guess.

It’s cold! High of -2 tomorrow with -30 to -40 windchill! Gotta love the midwest winters! I am soooo ready for spring already! Today we got about 4″ of snow. The kids got out of school at 1:00 p.m. Not sure why – the roads weren’t really that bad…. but that’s okay, they’re home safe and sound now!

Annika is struggling with her first cold. She is not at all happy about it. They took all the baby cold medicine off the market, so she is left to just suffer. I did give her Tylenol yesterday. She just has a stuffy nose – no cough yet, although that is probably to come. The boys all have little colds too. I kind of figured after the first week back at school that would happen. Like I said, I’m ready for spring!

Matt has been busy working on a homemade checkers/chess board made out of oak. It has been keeping him busy as he tinkers with it. Should be really nice when it is done!

I don’t really have any major news. Guess I will go get some laundry folded and maybe a menu made while Annika takes hopefully a long nap.

Well, it’s back into a regular schedule today. The boys are back at school, and Dane’s back to playing with mommy and being bored while mommy does laundry and such – poor guy. He gets to go back tomorrow!

We had a great break. We had the ice-storm so the boys didn’t have school the last day they were supposed to, and then they had two whole weeks off. It was busy with all the church services going on – Christmas Eve got cancelled though because of the ice.

Annika got baptized on the 28th. She was so beautiful in her dress! It was hard to take it off knowing she’ll never wear it again. Here are a few pictures: www.pastorsfamily.com/baptism

We had a great visit with Clara once she got here. They got right over the airport here, and then turned around and went back to MN because there was too much fog to land and she had to stay overnight in the airport there and come the next morning. Her plane was supposed to land at 5:50, so we brought the whole familiy to pick her up thinking we could go out to dinner. Well, soon it was they were coming that night but later, and then later, and then not at all. We didn’t find out not at all until close to midnight, so we didn’t get home until almost 2 a.m. (with all the kids!)

Speaking of kids and sleeping, my kids who never sleep in, started sleeping in about 3 days ago – right in time for back to school. They started sleeping till aroud 8:00, so today I actually had to wake them up for school! That rarely happens! Even Annika slept until 8:00 this morning after going to bed around 10:30!

Annika is sure to be up soon, she has been napping for 3 1/2 hours. Dane says he’s hungry, so I guess I better run!
